Blown-away Chihuahua reunited with owners

Funny…until you get to the “pet psychic” part. Really, people? You clearly deserved to have your dog blown away from you because you are too stupid to own it.

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Tinker Bell has been reunited with her owners after a 70-mph gust of wind picked up the six-pound Chihuahua and tossed her out of sight.

Dorothy and Lavern Utley credit a pet psychic for guiding them on Monday to a wooded area nearly a mile from where 8-month-old Tinker Bell had been last seen. The brown long-haired dog was dirty and hungry but otherwise OK.

The Utleys, of Rochester, had set up an outdoor display Saturday at a flea market in Waterford Township, 25 miles northwest of Detroit. Tinker Bell was standing on their platform trailer when she was swept away.

Dorothy Utley tells The Detroit News that her cherished pet “just went wild” upon seeing her.

First of all, I was listening to the radio (locally) and as the lady told the story and they were trying to find the dog, the phychics were calling in, this phychic lady told them to go to this location and look up, you can listen to live feed of the story at http://mojo.channel955.com/pages/home.html and see that it wasn’t the owners that saught out a phychic, so please don’t judge until you have the info correct.

A woman claims she is a “pet psychic” (which is just too moronic to even justify fully tearing apart), the owner finds the dog in the location where this alleged “pet psychic” told her to look, and the owner then credits this “pet psychic” with assisting in the find of this dog? There is no such phenomenon as “pet psychics”. Do you think, just maybe, there might be some other factors at play here than just the “miracle” of someone claiming they had a “sense” about where this animal was?

Among other factors, the probability of finding a dog matching that description seems rather high given the relatively small size of Waterford Township, MI (73,150). Don’t misinterpret my post as any lack of love for animals; I am very glad Tinkerbell was returned to her family and she was safe and sound. The issue I take with the situation is that there are any number of other factors that play in here, and people are very quick to assign some sort of mystical explanation for it, when it is just not necessary to do so. So don’t judge until you have looked at all angles of the situation.

I understand your comments, but that is not how you said it, “You clearly deserved to have your dog blown away from you because you are too stupid to own it.” It might have been coincidence, but that fact that she told them to go back there and look again, asked them if there was a wooded area and to look there. However she knew that is beyond me, but it worked and thank goodness it did.
